The e-mail client is one of Thunderbird Portable's most useful features - you can take your e-mail with you wherever you go although obviously, you can quickly fill up a flash drive with e-mails as you download.

In TB 78, you can define the note position in the settings. If you have a large screen, you can even display the notes outside of TB's main window, so it won't hide anything.

X-Thunderbird é una versione portatile di Mozilla Thunderbird® (marchio registrato della Mozilla Foundation) creata da winPenPack.com. Alla prima esecuzione di X-Thunderbird.exe, in automatico e in modo 'silente', verrà effettuato il download del setup di Thunderbird® nella lingua scelta, verranno estratti gli eseguibili nella cartella Bin (inizialmente vuota), e predisposto il file .ini di configurazione per le successive esecuzioni di X-Thunderbird. Al termine dell'operazione, il setup viene rimosso dalla cartella Lib.

Per questo motivo X-Thunderbird andrà installato (o aggiornato) tramite una delle seguenti procedure.

Automatica (solo per gli utenti delle suite winPenPack)
Dalla finestra principale (si apre dal menu selezionando la prima voce in alto, 'Configurazione'), cercare la categoria 'Internet' e su di essa fare click con il tasto destro del mouse, selezionando il comando 'Installa Software..'. Fornire nella finestra che si apre, il percorso dello ZIP dell'ultima versione di X-Thunderbird e poi attendere che venga completata l'installazione. Durante tale fase viene effettuata l'installazione 'silente' di Thunderbird nella cartella Bin di winPenPack; occorrerà quindi attendere qualche minuto che si completi.

Scompattare il nuovo ZIP di X-Thunderbird in una cartella temporanea (ad esempio C:TB_TEMP)
Avviare il programma facendo doppio click su C:TB_TEMPX-Thunderbird.exe
Quando si apre la finestra principale di Thunderbird, ciò significa che la fase di 'pseudo-installazione' è terminata. Chiudere Thunderbird.
Copiare o spostare manualmente la cartella 'C:TB_TEMPBinThunderbird' (ovvero, della versione appena installata) al posto di quella presente nella cartella 'BinThunderbird' della versione da aggiornare. In questo modo si mantiene inalterato il profilo utente 'UserThunderbird' eventualmente già esistente.
Copiare o spostare i nuovi file 'X-Thunderbird.exe' e 'X-Thunderbird.ini' sovrascrivendo quelli eventualmente preesistenti.

X-Thunderbird is a portable version of Mozilla Thunderbird® (registered trademark of the Mozilla Foundation) created by winPenPack.com. At first X-Thunderbird.exe execution, automatically and in 'silent' mode, will be downloaded the Thunderbird® setup of the selected language, will be extracted all program files into the (initially empty) Bin folder, and installed the correct .ini file for all next X-Thunderbird executions. At the end of these operations, the setup file will be removed from Lib folder.

Mozilla Thunderbird Portable Download

Automatic install (for winPenPack suites users only)
From winPenPack menu Launcher main window (opening from menu, selecting first option from top, 'Configuration'), search the 'Internet' category, right click on it and select 'Install Software..' option from contextual menu. Insert the full path of last downloaded X-Thunderbird ZIP file, then wait until installation is completed. During this phase, a 'silent' Thunderbird installation into Bin folder is performed; it will need some minutes for complete.
Manual install (for all Mozilla standalone programs and winPenPack expert users)
Unpack the downloaded X-Thunderbird ZIP file into a temporary folder (i.e. C:TB_TEMP)
Run the program, double clicking C:TB_TEMPX-Thunderbird.exe
When the Thunderbird main window will appear, it means that the 'pseudo-installation' phase is completed. Close Thunderbird.
Copy or move 'C:TB_TEMPBinThunderbird' folder contents (i.e. the new version) into 'BinThunderbird' (i.e. the old version). This allow to keep unchanged the user profile (under 'UserThunderbird') eventually existant.
Copy or move 'X-Thunderbird.exe' and 'X-Thunderbird.ini' files overwriting the previous ones.
