There’s little question that the DOOM series is one of the most iconic franchises in video game history. The first DOOM title, released on MS-DOS in 1993, is considered to be one of the games that birthed the first-person shooter genre and led to its mainstream acceptance. And with the international success of the modern soft reboot of the series, DOOM 2016 and Doom Eternal, it’s little wonder that many gamers count the franchise among their favorites.
